Viteyes 2 SOFTGELS contain the same combination of vitamins and minerals as Viteyes 2 CAPSULES but as in 'softgel' form which many find easier to swallow. It contains a formula in line with that recommended by pivotal eye health research.
The suggested daily intake of 2 capsules contains the formula recommended by this study.
If you prefer to take this formula with the added benefits of omega 3, order Viteyes 2 plus Omega-3 or additional ingredients such as bilberry, order Viteyes 2 Advanced.
Viteyes 2 SOFTGELS provide a high dose of vitamins C & E, zinc, copper as well as 10mg of lutein and 2mg of zeaxanthin. Lutein and zeaxanthin are carotenoids not found naturally in the body, but synthesised from our diet and utilised by the body, especially the eye.
- Zinc contributes to the maintenance of normal vision.
- Vitamin C and E contribute to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.

The main active ingredient to hopefully slow the progress of MD is a zinc compound. The cheapest is Zinc Oxide and thats what Viteys use. It makes some people nauseous especially as there is a huge dosage. The affected people are often made to feel quite porly for a few days. Boots sell plain Zinc oxide tablets much much cheaper so if you are brave you can test your tolerance without wasting a lot of cash. Talk to a pharmacist to get a proffesional opinion.

Thank you for purchasing Viteyes 2 and leaving a review.
Sometimes, a sensitivity to zinc can be minimised by taking the capsules with food to reduce the feelings of nausea.
It is caused by gastric irritation rather than an allergy and usually settles in time.I take your point that a cheaper way to test for zinc sensitivity is to buy a generic over-the-counter zinc supplement.
The dose of zinc in Viteyes 2 formulations is a lot lower than it used to be (25mg now instead of 80mg) so this issue is less common and splitting the dose morning and evening can help. The combination of high dose vitamin C, E and particularly zinc in Viteyes 2 all contribute to the stabilisation of dry macular degeneration.
The AREDS2 clinical trial tested this exact formula and taking zinc alone is not proven in the study. We have a dedicated website to this research published in 2013;For anyone wishing to avoid the side effects of zinc, Viteyes 2 Zinc-Free was developed with vitamins C & E alone.

I have been taking Viteyes 2 softgels for about 8 years after being diagnosed with Macular degeneration in 2016. Together with eating a healthy diet, I feel sure that they have slowed down the progress of the condition.
